First planning meeting proposed for the 23.06.2007 at 15:00,

just before the ILBS Sommerfest 2007

With the experience gained through the 2007 "Ideas for Better Business" seminar, ILBS is excited to announce a significantly larger, longer, and more stimulating event for summer 2008. 

The event will be as good as the ILBSers make it.  This is your chance to get involved!

First Glimpse :

Our initial goal is a three day event, for between 150-200 attendees, at around 3-400 euros per head.

The event itself will be comprised of 1-3 parallel themes/streams.

I hope that we might get a team to film the event (perhaps blackforest tv) so that the findings may be more widely distributed.

How will we manage it? :

What will these themes be? That is up to you.  This event is an opportunity to gather experts and attendees together to discuss and deliberate over a topic which fascinates you.  It is your chance to build a temporary mega-brain full of experience and enthusiasm.

The themes may be radically different to one another, but ideally we will find ways for each to complement the other.  For an example, look at the "After the Apocalypse" theme, for which I will be taking responsibility.

We have space for a core team of at least four motivated ILBSers, with as many helpers as possible : particularly those with free time. 

A provisionary list of roles and responsibilities which need covering are listed below.


Theme Team
  1. Identifying the target audience and how to reach them
  2. Storyboarding the theme days
  3. Finding presenters and keeping them informed
Promotion
  1. Telephone contact (taking orders and enquiries during working hours)
  2. Press P.R. (getting articles into newspapers and magasines)
  3. Creating Advertising Materials
  4. Translating my English into German!!!
  5. Design
  6. Direct Marketing (i.e. creating a mailing list and sending out invitations/info sheets)
  7. Sales - following up on leads, persuading attendees to buy a ticket and pay their deposits

Finance and Controlling

  1. Procurement (location, food, etc.)
  2. Budget oversight and controlling
  3. Accounts receivable
Helpers
  1. We think we will need actors!
  2. Crucially, we need organisational talents!
  3. "Busy hands" for the day of the event

Based on what happened at the last seminar I expect the timing to run something like this....
